SlideshowBox 1 and audio on ios (e.g., ipad)

I am using slideshowbox version 1.1.3 and need help getting audio to work on ipads. I have read that ipads require a user action to get audio working and I noticed on your demo site (using slideshowbox2) that on the ipad the audio is turned off until the user clicks on the audio icon.

Is this same approach possible on slideshowbox v 1.1.3? Is there some other way to get audio working on 1.1.3 for ipads?

The first version of SlideShowBox wasn't created or designed for iOS devices, so some features like audio probably won't work.
